Localizing impact: Micron unveils this year’s Micron Gives ERG grant winners!

Fran Dillard | December 2023

Since 2020, Micron’s employee resource groups (ERGs) have played a pivotal role in shaping our inclusive giving campaigns. For the fourth year in a row, Micron’s ERGs, in partnership with the Micron Foundation, have collectively directed $500,000 to nonprofit organizations, aligning closely with the values and needs of diverse communities worldwide.

This inclusive giving process is crucial for our ERG members, comprising over 47% of our global workforce. Serving as Micron’s ambassadors of inclusion, ERGs empower underrepresented team members, ensuring their voices are heard and helping to guide our philanthropic efforts.

This year, ERGs were empowered to localize the grants by country/region. Our ERG members span 92 chapters in 12 countries, and this approach will allow members to have an amplified voice in the giving campaign.

By giving smaller yet significant amounts at a local level – rather than awarding fewer grants at a regional level – our ERG grants can go further and support even greater impact for nonprofits in their communities around the world.

In 2023, we increased the number of grants, resulting in 51 grants being awarded by the Micron Foundation to 46 unique nonprofits located in communities where team members work and live. Together, we’re making a difference by enriching lives and providing meaningful impact for all.

Here are our 10 ERGs and their 2023 Micron Gives ERG grant recipients:
